Things You May Not Have Known About Sheri
|
- Sheri holds a high school band record for playing all the major scales in 38 seconds without a mistake, all staccato!
- Yes, Sheri DID go to band camp. As far as "band geeks" go, Sheri says at her high school it was actually cool to be in band.
- Sheri has had an impact at both her colleges: At the University of California, San Diego (Bachelors), she was a founding member of the Alpha Chi Omega Chapter. At Columbia University (Masters), she graduated first in her class and was Valedictorian.
- Sheri REALLY likes cars. She prefers German (Audi, VW). Her favorite car she says was her Audi A4 2.8 Quattro Sport Suspension and Wheels. (Ben: What is that?)
- Ever since she could remember (presumably before she could speak), she rarely failed to make a silly face whenever her mom or aunt said "Monkey Face!"

Sheri's "Monkey Face"

- Sheri's first exposure to swing dancing was at the Hi-Ball Lounge in San Francisco with her friend Grace.
- Her roots are at the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association where she started out by taking group lessons in Lindy Hop. She also has attended many different camps and weekend workshops.
- One time while doing a slip-out at the Derby, her shoe flew off her foot and hit the opposite wall!
(by then fortunately it was late and the room was empty so no injuries incurred).
- Sheri's favorite thing about swing dancing is that she has always loved to travel. Sheri loves traveling more now that she can go swing dancing just about anywhere and has another avenue to meet new people.
- Oh, and as Ben reminds her, her other favorite thing about swing dancing is that she met her husband through it
