Class Descriptions:
Lindy 1 (Beginning): 7:30pm - 8:30pm
No experience required.
As a matter of fact, no coordination required.
Evolution of one right foot and one left not required either.
Laughing at our jokes is required but that's about it. :)
We start from the very beginning and will have you up and dancing by the end of the first lesson. After that first lesson we spend the rest of the month teaching a wide variety of foundational material. This is great for beginners up to intermediate dancers and should be repeated until you are ready for the intermediate/advanced class. We minimize overlap of material from month to month as well.
If you are new to class and it seems others are picking it up faster than you, don't panic!! ... we have many students who repeat Lindy 1 over and over to get their dancing down and fundamentals down before moving to Lindy 2. In fact we encourage it!
So come join us - we love a fun and casual atmosphere. It's a great way to be active, have fun, and even learn fundamental Lindy Hop!
Lindy 2 (Intermediate/Advanced)): 8:30pm - 9:30pm
Experience required.
Dance the Lindy basic and variations comfortably at 150bpm.
Footwork is in your muscle memory already.
Laughing at jokes ... still required! :D
Come explore more topics and techniques to improve your all around Lindy Hop skills from two of the best. No partner required. We explore topics all around such as moves, technique, musicality, footwork, and more. Everything a growing Lindy Hopper needs!
TOPIC FOR MAY: Musicality with Choreography
We will do some mini choreography in our class as a way to explore musicality. We will give you "homework" by giving you the music ahead of class so you can think about how you would "choreograph" to it - thereby giving you time to think about the music and design your dancing to the music. It's another great way to help you learn about musicality!
